My favorite places to fish. I discovered the Spillway while going to the area Vo-Tech School. This is a very dangerous body of water to boat in. During the high rains runoff from the area increase the current here creating dangerous undertows. Several people have lost their lives. This time of year brings good fishing. It doesn't take long to get your limit. Baits such as Cold worms and Crickets work well.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a location with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first location has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second location, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
Lake D'Arbonne Spillway. Excellent fishing from the dam just at and a little after Good Friday(in April). First fish to move in from the Bayou are the Bream, Crappie, and Bar Fish, or the Hybrid Striper Bass. Everything can be caught here from Buffalo, Carp, Gar, Drum's and an occasional Spoonbill Cat.
